The latest additions to the Hunt Mega-Flo Descale Valve range cover virtually all descale applications. The tradition of Mega-Flo excellence, which started back in the 1930’s with the original Hunt descale valves, has now endured over 70 years. We continue to invest in research and development to bring you the latest in descale technology.

The heart of the Hunt descale valve is the plunger. Formed from centrifugally cast, heat-treated and corrosion resistant stainless steel, the plunger is precision machined and then chrome plated. This stringent material specification and our quality manufacturing procedures ensure a long service life on this critical component.

With a radial ported plunger design, the seal is pushed away from the plunger by the fluid pressure during shifting with a benefit of significantly longer seal life. In addition, the staggered flow slots provide gradual acceleration and deceleration of flow during the plunger shift to prevent damage from velocity shock (water hammer). This smooth shift operation helps prolong the life of all components in the descaling system.
